Special Events for The Home Front Cares

COLORADO CELEBRATES THE HOME FRONT CARES FIFTH ANNIVERSARY On May 1, 2008, The Home Front Cares, Inc. (THFC) celebrated its fifth anniversary at the Penrose House in Colorado Springs.  THFC has provided more than $1.1 million in urgent financial support to more than 1500 Colorado military families of all services who have been impacted by deployment in harm’s way since its inception in 2003.  Founded by retired Air Force Colonels, Bob Carlone and Joe Henjum, to provide a support network for military families, the program was announced to the public on May 13, 2003 at the Colorado Springs City Hall by Mayor Lionel Rivera with a large group of local and military organizations present. Thanks to the efforts of Representative Larry Liston (House District 16), the Colorado House Representatives read and presented a House Resolution to The Home Front Cares, for its support of families of troops deployed in harm's way, on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at 9:00 AM in the House Chambers of the State Capitol.  Attendees from The Home Front Cares were:  Bob Carlone and his wife, Mary; Joe Henjum and his wife, JoAnne; Vicki Kounk and her husband, Clinton; Bryan Hartwig; and Joan Kline.          To view pictures from the event, click on the number below: 1 2 3 4

Kristen Hughes, who graduated from Lewis Palmer and will be attending 

TCU next year decided to do something special for the Troops on 

Independence Day. She designed, had printed, and sold the great t-shirt 

you see her wearing in the picture. She presented Jeff Dahlberg a check 

for $2,180.63 for THFC. Thanks, Kristen for your efforts...you will definitely 

help our brave military families!
