HOW OUR GRANTS WORK
Our financial aid consists of grants, typically paid to your landlord, mortgage or utility company or other vendor/service provider. When you are referred to The Home Front Cares, one of our case workers moves quickly to review your application and send it to our Case Review Committee (CRC). The CRC is comprised of seven board members, four of whom must approve the grant via an electronic "drop box." When the CRC approves your case, checks are cut almost immediately, except on weekends and holidays. We are built to move fast, we will verify your military service along with financial needs and many of our grants are approved in less than 24 hours and we can be the"save" that keeps you from being evicted or having your power turned off.
We are a "by referral" agency, meaning another agency must refer you to us. A list of referring agencies is below. If you don't know where to begin, call our helpline, 719-434-1501. We'll get you started with the right agency.
